female, 27, 140 lbs, was on pill for two years, periods presented sparce and light, occassionally missing periods thoughout duration, with cramps, ill effects and other pms symptoms appearing every 2-3 months, but nothing unbearable.
age of onset of menstral period was appx 15.7yrs old (late onset) and always light/irregular.
fertility was proven in medical history as well as clean bill of health and all negative test results at annuals. last annual was november.
after cessasion of taking the birth control pill in march 2009, there was spotting for one day, and after that, no more menstruation to date. there was also no cramps or any other pms symptoms noticed at any time all year, other than weight fluctuation.
she assumed it was always "on the way" and is not pregnant, and now has to go to a very costly doctor with no insurance, so she would really like to know where to go so she is at the right doctor to begin with. her doctor offered no ideas as to the cessation of the period other than polycystic means, which is highly unlikely given her history.
any ideas what is going on with her and where she should go?
