I have been suffering for 5 months with pain on my right side, under the ribs to the groin, I have constant diarrhea, spasms in the groin and just above it. I have had 3 ultrasounds, one on my upper abdomen which showed cysts, 1 (10mm) on my right kidney, 1 (5mm) on my left kidney & 1 (5mm) on my liver. The other two ultrasounds were internal and a lower abdomen, they showed nothing. And a CT scan on my upper abdomen. I have been told that the cysts arent causing my pain, that all I have is back pain and to do excercises. This isnt helping, I have lost weight I weighed in at 78 kilo's 2 weeks ago, im now 70 kilo's, I'm 5'11" in height, im starting to look like a skeleton. I do suffer from anxiety & depression as a result of a driveby shooting. Please help...... I'm at my wits end. I'm 43 and female. Hopefully someone has an answer..............

  • It sounds like you have gallstones or gallbladder disease. Even though the tests may come back normal you still may have a diseased gallbladder. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, severe pain under ribs on right side that can go all the way through to the back. Does your pain get worse when you eat foods that are hard to digest such as raw veggies and steaks? I was told many many times that my gallbladder was normal. When it finally ruptured and I nearly died, they finally believed me.Good luck,Janet Lewis, RN MSN

  • I havent been eating much at all the last few weeks as I have no appetite, I have been eating dry crackers and drinking lots of water, everytime i do eat something I have diarrhea the next day, havent eaten red meats for about 3 months, so not sure about that, and any vegetables I eat are steamed, not raw and crunchy...I have a cpl of pieces of chocolate at night to keep my energy up. The pain is always there its just worse after I have been up for awhile. When I had my monthlies (excuse the bluntness) I had no pain for the last 2 days. So not sure what to make of it. Thanks everyone for your input. Im trying another dr tomorrow, hopefully he will find the problem.

  • I had the same symptoms last year. They did all kinds of test, checked for gallbladder stones, they did severely x rays and ct scans as well, everything came back completly normal. Finally they did a gallbladder function test, and surprise, surprise, my gallbladder was completely dead, not functioning one single bit. This had caused all the other test to come back normal, eventhough I did have a few small stones. I wish you the best, and I hope you find an answer soon!

  • ok, an update, went back to my original dr, he now thinks I may have colitis as my mum had it awhile back, so now have to have a blood test and a colonoscopy. I've never been under an anaesthitic before so am a little apprehensive about having it done. Will fill you in when I find out more. My dr. repeatedly said my gallbladder is normal. Is there a gallbladder function test available in Australia???

  • Is is NOT Lyme disease. Please do not get tested for Lyme disease. It is such a rare disorder and it seems someone has their own agenda? Janet
