Friends, I have been to numerous doctors in the last few years. I have had the most random set of symptoms, and can't seem to get any sort of diagnosis. I am reaching out to you in hopes that someone might have an idea of which direction I need to look. Thank you so much.
Main symptoms for the last few years
Depression/Anxiety (I have taken prozac with good results, stopped to TTC, currently on Zoloft with no results..)
Brain Fog
Increasingly bad vision (especially at night)
Extreme fatigue
Migraines
irregular cycles with severe cramping (checked for cysts last year, negative)
infertility (anovulatory, used Clomid unsuccessfully)
weight gain
low body temp
patch of coarse hair on chin
dry skin
reoccurring kidney stones
Symptoms in the last year
Hot flashes
insomnia
back pain
swelling in hands, face and neck (Dr. suggested goiter, ultrasound negative)
random Low blood pressure (passed out at gym)
random low blood sugar
Recent symptoms
Tightness in neck (can't stand shirt collars on neck)
random nerve pain ( tingling in arms, feeling of water drops on hands)

Along with an infection in my tooth, which they attribute to helping to cause the migraines. i have been tested for lyme as well and its negative. this week they have looked at my cbc bloodwork which is normal and 2 out of three tests for thyroid have been negative. I have this ongoing aching numbness tingling pressure in my neck now in the front along the sides and in front, sometimes radiating to the upper chest, and have an ultrasound next week along with a visit to the ent for scoping of the throat and sinus. What have you come up with lately if anything? this is bizarre and feel helpless to this, i am running out of tests and wonder if you have any new developments.thank you, jd

  • I have most of those, this is my second reply the first was before I registered. I am a male so dont have the obvious female ones, but all of the others except the weight gain. my doctors have not been the best but trying different tests, all which usually come back negative. Migraines is the one they decided on last year, and now with added neck pressure and numbness tingling with sometimes spreading to upper chest they think its a virus and will pass. i have had 2 out of three thyroid come back negative and i guess the last one takes 10 days to get back. next week i see ent for throat and sinuses scope and a ultrasound on monday for neck exporation, i am at a loss and hoping to get some info from you or continue discussing our tests and results to hopefully narrow it down, its frustrating when the doctors minimize it and want to believe its in my head. i dont know what to do?

  • Have you had your T3, T4 and TSH levels taken? How are your calcium levels?Did your physician rule out Polycystic Ovary disease? Cushings?Have you experienced significant weight gain (more than 15 lbs)? What is your BMI? What other diagnostics have you had other than the cbc?Do you have problems with gout?Have you considered switching to Cymbalta (start with a low dose)? How long have you been on Zoloft with no result? If you have the coverage, be persistent and keep seeing a doctor, somebody will be able to help you.
