please help with diagnosis

i am writing on behalf of my 60 year old father, he has pitting edema of both ankles and joint paisn in all distal joints of the feet and hands. the onset was insidious, the swelling is moderate. All tests have come negative - pulmonary function, Rheumatoid factor, liver function, he is hypertensive, and has a high choelestrol. no other major health issues. Thank u

  • you'd think edema would have to do more with the kidneys than liver, has his GFR been checked? (it had a lowercase letter in my test, I forget which one).

  • I think massage and chinese medicine is meant to help with edema?

  • he should not get massage with the swelling...high choelestrol can give him a heart attack..you better get on top of that right away..
