Can any one help my find out what is wrong with my grandson

He is 10 weeks old and so far has only spent 9 days at home . At first he was diagnosed with reflux and ended up having an operation and has a tube in his tummy to feed him . However, the reason he went into hospital on the first occasion was that he produced thick secretions that choked him as he could not swallow them or get them out of his mouth as they were so thick these secretions were also blood stained. His lungs appear to be clear and he seems to go 5 to 10 days between episodes. I went to visit him today and he looked so well I thought that he may be well enough to home for christmas but he had another episode this afternoon and required suction, after he has these episodes he goes very sleepy and pale. The doctors are doing various tests but I think they are stumped by his condition. Ha sany one ever heard of any thing like this . It is my daughters first child and my first grandchild he is such a happy little fella most of the time but it is very sressful when no one knows what is wrong with him. Please help

  • Sounds to me like he has some sort of an alergic reaction to something he is coming into contact with. His glands in his throat maybe recating to the antigen and creating over activity of the mucus glands in the throat.
