  • I have mild asthma and anxiety problems and have had your symptoms. When my asthma begins to kick up, it causes my anxiety to worsen. I will wake up at night suddenly with shortness of breath and then panic thinking it's my heart because now it is pounding and my anxiety will kick in. It's very frightening. I never knew I had asthma until I landed in ER a couple years ago and I am 55 years old. I am not saying you have asthma, but have the doctors considered other organs like your gallbladder as a possible source of the problem?

  • With a hiatal hernia you will probably have some reflux which could contribute to your chest pain...or esophageal spasms. Get some Nexium or Prilosec and see what happens.
