we Are Now 2 Weeks Into This, and The Doctors Are Still Stumped! My Sister, Who Is 30, Complained Of Headaches Off & On Since Thanksgiving. About 2 Weeks Ago, She Started Having What She Tought Were Mild Seizures(tremors, panic, Odd Smells, Short Term Memory Loss). She Was In & Out Of The E.r. Several Times For These Symptoms. The Hospital Did Mri,eeg, cat Scans, blood Tests,etc.... And Found Nothing Abnormal. Her Husband Came Home From Work & Found Her Wandering Around Outside Naked. She Destroyed Everthing She Could Get Hold Of In Thier Home. She Would Only Sleep For A Ccouple Hours At A Time, Only To Wake Up With The Same Odd Behaviors, Along With Severe Muscle Twitching & Jerking. She Did Not Realize She Was Doing Any Of This! Again He Took Her To The E.r. & They Decided To Send Her To A Larger Hospital W/ More Specialists. My Sister Is Now In I.c.u. In Serious Condition! They Continue To Do M.r.i., Eeg, Cat Scans, Blood Work, Urine Tests........ And Still Have Found Nothing! She Is In A Demented State, And Doesn't Know Where She Is. She Has Severe Muscle Twitching. And Seems Extremely Agitated At Times. She Rants About Stuff That Doesn't Make Any Sense, And A Lot Of The Time What She Is Saying Is In Repetition. Her White Blood Cells Are Slightly Elevated, But Other Than That We're Empty-handed. At First They Thought It May Be Encephalitis, Now They're Saying No & They Can't Find Anything! If You Have Any Idea, Please Let Me Know.

  • Um, I dunno if this will help, but I want to try to help in anyway I can. First off, it was after Thanksgiving? Is there anyway that it could be related to something in the food she ate? Also, I know this migth not help too much, but I want to put it out there, my psychology teacher mentioned to us one time about how her friend's husband was fine, and then one night he woke up and started having similar problems to your sister. The doctors couldn't figure it out, but then one doc started giving him shots of something, but I cannot remember what it was. I'm really sorry I can't remember, part of me wants to think he was given something with steroids, but I honestly cannot remember. I hope things get better and good luck.

  • My Sister's Name Is Mandy. And I Thank You So Very Much For Your Prayers And Thoughts. Currently, Her Condition Has Worsened. She No Longer Recognizes Anyone. She Is On A Feeding Tube Now. The Muscle Twitching & Involuntary Movements Are Constant. The Doctors Have Continued To Do Mri's, Eeg, Blood Work.... And All Come Back Fine. They Also Did A Lumbar Puncture, But The Results Won't Be Back For Several Days. At This Point, All The Doctor's Are Doing Is Giving Us Thier " Best Guess".... Which Has Ranged From Encephalopathy To Rabies. Even Though No Test Has Come Back Positive So Far.

  • :) DAVE...... ACTUALLY, WE HAD THOUGHT OF THAT TOO. IT'S A SCARY THOUGHT. YOU DIDN'T OFFEND ME...... IF THE DOCTOR'S CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT SOON, WE MAY BE CONTACTING SOMEONE IN THE CHURCH WHO CAN HELP. THANK YOU. There "is" a solution, to your problem! Yes, going to a church "is" a good idea, but there "is" a better answer, in my personal opinion. Why not do what a friend of mine in Texas did. His wife was near death, when taken to the e.r., the doctor told him, your wife has an artery that is blocked. Then went on to say, that unless we create a small sliver in said artery, she shall " surely die". So, my friend proceeded to the chapel, that was located on that floor. Without hesitation he immediatly fell to his knee's, & then he swore, that if God would save her life, he would confess his sins, dedicate his life to *****t, & live his life for Him. This is what he asked of God! That if he would open a sliver in said artery as a sign, that he would follow up the commitment. Now, being finished with his prayer, he headed back to the e.r. The doctor came bursting through the door, and said. I "don't" believe it, i went in to operate, & somehow a small sliver was there, allowing him access,& thus saved her life! With "God" all things are possible. I'll Pray for You.

  • :) Hello, nice to meet you. My stand on this issue, will never waiver; and it is this, that My Lord ***********t, "will help you in your time of need". Please, do "not" listen to anyone that trys to tell you different. For your sister's sake, as well as yourself The Lord God does "not" take these matters lightly. His Only Begotten Son, sufferd so that you would not have to. The Bible says "By His Stripes We are Healed. Listen to the oh so soft words of His. I'll pray for your sister, as well as yourself. By for now.

  • Could it be a vitamin/mineral deficiency or overload? Look into copper overload. I saw it on ' House' one night. Key in extreme responses to vitamin/mineral deficiency or overload on the internet. May be an odd form of bacteria. Call where you purchased food and see if anyone else is not feeling well. If there wasn't a psychological issue before I doubt that that is it. I agree with praying but I would lean just as heavy on scientific research. I hope you find a solution soon!!!!

  • I have been racking my brain for any answers for your sister. I am a nurse and I really want to help. I am interested in the mold mentioned. I know that certain molds can cause short term and sometimes long term memory loss. The elevated WBC could be caused by this also, but I have doubts that this is what is causing all of her symptoms. Unless she lives in an old house or she has had water damage that has been untreated. However, anything is worth a try. I hope you find some answers soon. I'll keep your family in my prayers. Good luck!!!

  • :) Hello again, maybe if i make the text large enough, would this help you to understand just what it is i'm trying to do hear, in this forum? Why is it when it comes to the subject of prayer, everyone jumps up to go and listen to Dr. Phill. I maintain that ****s "is" The Great Psysician & if you decide that Dr. Phill knows more than He, so be it.

  • I'm not sure if you are opposed to medical care or not. I have religious beliefs but I hope yours aid you in finding a cure not complicate your sister's possible recovery. I'm sure if she gets better she can have many years ahead of her to help others, and we need a lot of help here.Best of luck. Check the metal poisoning.
