We're going on 3 weeks or longer now, where my girlfriend is in a near-constant state of nausea. She cannot vomit even when she tries to induce it. She also has a stiff neck and general weakness. And in the last couple days, she has started having moments of greyout - yesterday at lunch she just spaced out and started drooling for a moment, for instance.
Pregnancy seemed to be the first idea for the nausea, but she has taken three pregnancy tests and, although a few days late, had a full and normal period. (the first tests were taken before her period when it was late, and she took another yesterday morning - her period was last week or longer ago by now.)
The biggest issue here is that she doesn't have regular healthcare insurance - she has it through the Army Reserve, but they informed her she was only covered during a drill weekend or training period, i.e. only when she's actually working for the Army. So, she can't afford a trip to the ER, for example.
Any time we look up symptoms on the Web it comes up as Meningitis, more or less, but she hasn't had a fever or headache or anything like that. Plus, it's fairly easy to self-diagnose the worst case scenario...
