I've been stricken with this ailment about a month or two ago, it is a severe itching around my back, shoulders armpit, back of the head and sometimes by my waistline. It comes and goes but leaves me in agnony, especially at night, even as I type im itchy. Sometimes when it gets bad, welts appear on my back. I doubt it is scabies for i wash at least once a day and it cant be allergies because we use hypoallegenic soaps. Please help:(

  • Do you have any other symptons? Fatigue? Headaches? It could be something bigger then just the rash. If not you could be allergic to foods. My friend just found out she is allergic to wheat. Since then she hasn't had a rash. Good luck.

  • Did your symptoms come on after an illness? If so, I was thinking shingles. Have you ever had chicken pox? It's related to that.

  • Scabies has nothing to do with cleanliness, I know an entire floor of nursing staff who came down with it because it is caused by skin contact with someone who has it. Get a skin scraping for diagnosis...OR... maybe it's my favorite rash, pityriasis rosea. Are there lines down your back like a tree? Imagine your spine is the trunk. Are the welts in lines that start at the spine and travel downward out to your sides? Commonly called Christmas tree pattern. Look it up. It is harmless and will be gone in a couple of weeks.

  • Thanks for your quick responses guys, yes, rosea is in my family I found this out today, my doctor put me on regular benadryll dosages and that seems to be working I have no idea what could have triggered this though or if benadryll would help a thing like rosea, but for know I'm fine, the dermatologist says when I stop taking benadryll and if I itch then they will check the skin and blood. I also found out the welts a redness are actually just from me scratching, I apparently have a very sensitive skin in the case that just by scratching it it swells up. And I thought that was normal =P Thanks for your help and quick responses though I really appretiate it.
