Please help!!!!! I'm 39, 5'7" and 134 lbs. I need help with a diagnosis! I'm extremely tired and weak all the time. I never feel rested. I'm in alot of pain, mostly lower back/pelvis. I've had a 2 c-sections, an appendectomy(found appendix in upper left - took exploritory surgery to find it), a hysterectomy (had endometriosis), all to still be in alot of pain! It usually takes me 2 to 4 hours to fall asleep, then can't hardly wake up in the mornings. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get, I'm still extremely fatigued.
Had bone scan that was normal, thyroid shows normal, blood work seems to be within reason...
I'm only good for about 2 hours a day before I get weak and have to quit...
I used to be extremely active, worked out, played sports, etc... Now I don't feel good enough to do much of anything... I'm not depressed - I just feel sick all the time...
What can I ask from the doctor? Any suggestions on what tests to run?

  • I know fatigue and pain. See my thread by V52. Has your B12 been checked? If so, what was it?

  • I know what you mean.I am thankful I did not take the docs conclusion and accept the CFS-I had some type of virus I am still fighting and still of unknown origin...I would reiterate the facts to your doc that you are still searching for a REAL diagnosis. Hope you get some answers.I think the term CFS is over used when there is no other explaination.Good luck to you.Hope you get your energy back!

  • Are your joints and muscles sore? If so you could have fibromyalgia. Have your doctor check your trigger points. I feel your pain as I have this and Lupus. I know the fatigue you are talking about. Get Better

  • I too had trouble sleeping but then literally could not wake up the next day. My doctor put me on ambien for sleep and provigil to maintain awakeness. It took a good month for me to get some relief. being so tired all the time is only 1/2 the battle. Ive been diagnosed with cfs having positive hhv6 (human herpes virus 6) dont know much about it but thought it might help the other replied post who was looking for an unknown virus. hope this helps.

Given the presence of flu-like symptoms in these illnesses, an underlying viral or bacterial illness has been suspected. Yet no specific pathogen has been consistently and uniquely associ*ated with either illness, including Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus, and human her*pes virus 6 (Ang & Wilke, 1999; Glaser & Kiecolt-Glaser, 1998). In the absence of an identified pathogenic invader, an immune defect has been hypothesized for CFS in which disease fighting entities remain in an abnormally activated state and produce flu-like symptoms (Straus, Dale, Wright, & Metcalfe, 1988). A number of studies have found low levels of natural killer cells in CFS cases relative to healthy controls; however, no con*vincing evidence has linked natural killer cell activity to disease severity or outcome in CFS (Whiteside & Friberg, 1998). In FM, as well, no consistent evidence has been found for specific immune defects, although subsets have been characterized by defects in T cell activation (Hernanz et al., 1994), elevated antinuclear antibodies (Smart, Waylonis, & Hackshaw, 1997), and elevated serotonin antibodies (Klein & Berg, 1995). http://www.co-cure.org/private/Clinical.htmIf you are more of an action person, I would recommend you trying Oil of Oregano and Dandelion Root and Rosavin.

  • I have spent 19 months trying to cure the same problem. After 14 months going to my doctor and having a zillion different tests, all of which were ok, I left out the doctor and went to Google and a Homeopath and then a Herbalist and in a further 5 months mainly with Googles help I cured my "LEAKY GUT SYNDROME" and am only too happy to feel normal again. It is a long road to sort it out but everything you need, you will find if you go to Google and type in LEAKY GUT SYNDROME....ps Dont mention the word Leaky Gut to a Doctor. I am convinced they all take a secret oath during training to deny that any problems stem from a leaky gut. and they will say..."a leaky what ???" Meantime, when you have a leaky gut you can develop umpteen other problems....Yuppie Flu I am convinced is the same thing.....Type into Google also "OLIVE LEAF TABLETS" They are incredible, safe and really helped me...Of course they are natural so your doctor won't give them to you because there is no money in it for him....Good Luck.

  • I have also been taking "Olive Leaf Extract" too. So far, so good. They have it in liquid or capsule form, however, the some or all of the capsules is more potent than the liquid I m currently taking. (Liquid 22mg/5mL compared to 50mg/capsule). I have both. I have been taking the liquid form. It's not the best tasting thing on the planet, but dont be dicouraged. I wanted to see how my body would react to the lower potentcy, so far, I am doing ok, so I am thinking of switching to the capsule once this bottle is finished. Here is a link for "olive leaf extract"http://www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/Herbal/Research/olive.htm

But I still had bouts of muscle weakness and menstrual problems.I think vaccines, birth control pills, and all the synthetic hormones in food, cosmetics, air, pvc, plastics, etc have a lot to do. I detoxed but I think it is my own hormones there playing a role on my fatigue and cyclical pain.Best.

  • Hi, I believe that "leak gut sindrome" does make sense, but you have to go further than that because if your body PH ACIDIC/ALKALINE BALANCE is too acidic it can cause many sickness, including 'leak gut sindrome".Please, google BODY PH ACIDIC/ALKALINE BALANCE or go to the following web site and read about it and you will be amazed. I was amazed by what I found out about PH balance when I was diagnosed with panic attack and what I was really having was a serious allergy that was leading me to an anaphilatic shock and I could go into coma and die. In March I got those symptoms and since then I started researching trying to find out what this could be and after 3 months researching I found out that I was too acidic. After lowering the acid and raising the alkaline PH in my body I can sleep better and my blood pressure is normal and I can eat without feeling pain and digest better. So please, learn more about PH and you will be glad you did.http://www.totalhealthlabs.net/showNotesDetails/84.htmlhttp://www.totalhealthlabs.net/showNotes.htmlI hope you find healing. May God bless you!
