I know I have a pinched nerve in my neck, so that explains the random numbness in my face, fingers, all over random numbness. But I don't know why I yesterday I came close to losing my sight, I was seeing sun spots, bright flashes for over an hour. I'ts only happened one before. Does anyone know if this is realated to a pinched nerve? Or did my pinched nerve give me a headache with a loss of sight? I did have a terrible headache before the sight went weird.

  • No, pinched nerves would not give you loss of sight. While the nerves that go down to your arms and legs pass through your spine, the ones to your eyes and face do not, they are in your head... So, the numbness in your face and vision troubles probably warrant further investigation. It sounds like you may need to be seen by a neurologist. It sounds like your headaches might be migraines, which can produce visual auras like the spots you saw...But you should let the doctors figure this one out. If your symptoms are from migraines, there are a lot of really helpful medications. This could be early MS (or something else), though, so to play it safe, please go to a doctor.Best Wishes.

  • I know loss of sight could be from many things, When I don't eat for a long period of time it happens, I have a disease called Sphirositosis, very rare, had my spleen removed when I was five. It affects my folic acid and i'm technically anemic, low blood sugar, not eating increases the chances of fainting. I have no health insurance, but I will plan a check up. I'm only 20, with my disease and my pinched nerve I don't think I had a stroke. Pinched nerve is in my neck.

  • go to your nearest social security administration and apply for ssi and they will help you apply for medical insurance. without a spleen you are automatically approve i think. in the meantime - go to a local church or shelter or salvation army or st vincents and get them to refer you for medical treatment.
