Hello everyone, I appreciate any one of you for coming inside and trying to help. I will tell my story.. my background: i'm male/24.. usually was healthy except for recurring bacterial tonsillitis a year ago. .one months ago I started to feel weak.. muscles started to twitch and I started to feel tingling in my feet and palms. did some thorough blood tests and everything came out just fine except for an EBV infected from october (I had mono for 2 weeks and then all symptoms went away). was sent to a neurologist and he did an EMG test and everything was fine. he gave me cipralex to ease me up. I took it for 10 days and I stopped because I didn't like the idea of taking it. he told me I can stop it whenever I want. so I stopped. a few days ago I lost something like 60%-70% of my sensation all over my body! it's really severe loss. I barely feel anything. on top of everything I have a weird headache in the back of my head. a few days ago I started to feel pressure on the top of my nose. like someone is touching it. last night i went to the hospital and they tested my blood and everything was fine. they sent a neurologist to test me and she said that everything is fine neurologically since the loss is symmetrical. and she also made the "look in the eye test". anyhow i'm really clueless and everyone think that i'm crazy but i'm not. I even didn't feel fire earlier when I lit a candle in my room(as a part of a relaxation session everyone told me to try.. because i'm too anxious about my condition). please please try to help me.. thank you very very much for your help!

  • Over 8 years ago my right arm became numb...but only half of it. From the shoulder all the way to the tips of my fingers, the outside of my arm felt like I had been shot with novacaine. My hair was falling out like I was going through chemotherapy. I began to have tinnitus...ringing in my ears. I had all kinds of tests that all came back negative. The doctors started to act like I was faking my symptoms..I thought I was going crazy. What was finally determined is that I was depressed. I knew that I was depressed but had no idea that depression could cause such weird symptoms. After taking anti-depression medication for about three months, my numbness in my arm finally went away....but it took a long time. Stress and depression can have myriad symptoms that you wouldn't think are related. Then again, there is always the mystery diagnosis....doctors are just looking for the obvious, and when they don't see it....they don't know what else to do. Look around your house for new things that you may have come into contact. You may be having a crazy allergic reaction to something new in your environment. Keep a daily diary of your symptoms...to see if they are more intense at different times of the day, or relate to anything you may have eaten. Good luck....my good health be with you.....Hello everyone, I appreciate any one of you for coming inside and trying to help. I believe in natural medicine and I'm also studying Chinese Medicine. We learn that body is all about energy channels, you must have stagnation (blockage) in your body, I recommend two things: 1) acupuncture from a accredited acupuncturist and who has extensive experience 2) Mineral Miracle Solution which I and many people take for infection (not approved by the FDA) it is a miracle though. Best of luck to you!

  • Seriously, look for a "master level" Reiki practitioner. I believe they have to be affordable and willing to prove ability, by for example heating up your hand without touching it. Tell them Usui Sensei wrote that it should be proven. However proof may also be in the treatment itself, you may get a big surprise. Yes a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor can help, and they often know Reiki. Try to find one from Taiwan with a Buddhist / Taoist background. If you just have an illness then they will fix that too. Often what you experienced happens when one develops new spiritual skills. Your body may be releasing an ingredient that limits sensation - useful at the dentist etc. Tingling on the palms is felt when the chakras on the palms open, etc. Regular doctors know very little about what causes illness, and nothing about the energy systems that we consist of.Rather don't burn a candle in your room, it releases petrochemical toxins. Try for seven days to eat only brown rice, cooked in water with salt, with (after cooking) a salad dressing of a little extra virgin cold pressed olive oil, red spirit vinegar, thyme, salt, all well stirred into the rice. With that, mix in organically grown veggies, steamed or cooked in water - only from the cabbage family, pumpkins, peas, beans, and beetroot. Nothing strong tasting. Never microwave anything and never heat the oil, as in frying. Drink only water, quite a lot, with a spot of still red grape juice if needed. You will see all that is eliminated this way. Supplement only with slow release vitamin C. Seven days of this will help a lot, whatever your complaint turns out to be.

This is a longshot but ive heard that vegetarians can end up lacking vitamin b12 if they are not careful because it is only found in animal products, i.e. milk, eggs, meat. According to other articles on the net a longterm lack of this vitamin can cause loss of feeling, this is only a danger to vegetarians or people who cannot absorb vit b12 because they lack a certain chemical in their stomachs.Sorry, i know this is a longshot but perhaps you could mention this theory to the doctor next time you are there? Wishing you well,DogNinja

There is something called 'SSRI discontinuation syndrome', which would usually begin 1 to 3 days after stopping/lowering dose. It can cause what you described, and can be confirmed by it going away (within 24 hours) when you take the drug again. If you were to do nothing, and it is from that, it could last 1 to 3 weeks.Good luck and hope turns out well:)

I actually started to do acupuncture. to Med Student, what do you think that I should do? should I try and take another dose and see what happens?or wait for a few weeks without taking a dose? do you really think that after 10 days of taking SSRI I can have these symptoms? I don't know what I should do.. botimat

  • Personally, I am against taking medications. In your case, just for confirming the issue to help calm you, I would take it for 24 hours and see if it helps. I am all for alternative medicine, but I have experience in herbal, not acupuncture. As long as you don't leave with a cracked neck, I think you can safely continue that therapy.:)

  • thanks everyone for the help. tomorrow I'm going to see a good neurologist that will make a EMG test on me. on Saturday I have an MRI test for the brain(which I pay for independently.. 1000$ :( ) my doc wanted to send me to CT but I don't want the radiation and I know that if they find something, god forbid, they will make an MRI test after the CT. so I'm having the MRI directly. I hope everything will be alright.. I wish good health to everyone
