I really can't carry on I just don't know what to do. Where do I start.

I had a smear test taken 3 years which needed to be repeated because not enough cells or something. I had it taken again the year after which was 2 years ago now and it came back 'normal'. At the same time I started to experience some bleeding after sex and greenish discharge along with the normal cervical mucus. I had some swabs taken 'all normal' but my GP did say that a 'cervical erosion' was seen.

I since went onto get pregnant but had 3 miscarriages all early, at a scan it was seen that I have a cavity in my uterus 'fibroid'.

We have still been trying for a baby but after sex I have really bad watery discharge almost as though I have wet myself I know that it's not from 'him' I know the difference it's too watery and clear in colour, also recently I have had pinkish discharge after sex which last time was bright red blood and painful during sex.

My periods have also changed they last 11 days with the first 7 days light spotting then 2 days really heavy painful days. Then it eases until next time.

I went along again to see another GP who again did swabs 'all ok' then I had an internal examination by the GP and now I've been sent for an urgent referral to see a Gynae.

I am so worried as what did she see when I had the internal? I feel sick and are thinking the worst as I have read that although some ladies have a 'normal' smears they still can have something sinister.

What scares me is that I have had these problems for 2 years now and I may have left it too long. Any one had anything simular?

  • First, try not to blame yourself. We're all human and we do what we can. Second, if you're concerned, call your doctor and *ask.* But be prepared to hear scary news which may eventually turn out to be nothing.

  • Hello Poppy, im sorry to hear your really having such a rubbish time.Try not to worry and think of what could have been, the fact your seeing a Gynae doctor means its getting sorted out! i am not an expert but from patients i have cared for i believe the fibroids will cause more bleeding during your period than is normal so explains the heavier periods. they can cause problems sometimes causing misscarriages.the cervical erosion could cause the bleeding after sex and discharge. it might just be that they want the gynae doctor to confirm a diagnosis or remove the fibroid. it could be as simple as that, however go prepared make sure you have someone with you when you go for the appointment. i wish the GP had explained things further for you. i hope this has helped a little bit. try not to worry i know its hard. Good luck Ellen xxx
