hi, my name is Hannah i am 13 and i have been strugling for the bpast 6 or 7 months with extreme upper stomach pain along with nausia and dizziness. It did not seem to be very much of a problem when it first started but as it progressed i went to see my family doctor we thought it may have been acid reflus disease. But as my symtoms became worse we began trying different over the counter meds we also tryed a perscription but it made my symtoms so much worse. I am now a patient at childrens medical center but we have tryed numorous amounts of tests but nothing has come up. What ever is wrong with me has completely effected my life i have a hard time doing things like a normal teenager would normaly do because of it please and thank you

Is your pain, nausea, etc constant or does it come and go? Is there anything that makes it better, even if just for a little while? What prescription did they give you? With the upper stomach, it could be a lot of things. The most common thing I can think of would be an ulcer. You would need an endoscopy to find out. Do you have black stool? Does ibuprofen (advil) make it worse?Another possibility is gall bladder issues. Is the pain/nausea worse after you eat? Does it move to the right side at all, or do you experience shoulder pain? A HIDA scan with CCK and an ultrasound are used to diagnose gall bladder problems.Porphyria is also a possibility. Do you get tingling or numbness in your fingers or toes? Any personality changes like feeling really anxious, irritable, or depressed? Testing for this one is complicated so you'd need to speak to a doc about it.Like I said, it's impossible to even guess without more information, but these are just a few ideas to get you started. Good luck, and I hope you get whatever it is sorted out soon.
