Hi, I will come back here to check responses or you can email me too at xanaduloot@yahoo.com .I am going to GIVE a full background on myself and all my issues here so sorry If i go overboard... Ok I am 29 years old white female, I am overweight and have been for 90% of my life, I currently am weighing about 235lbs and am 5'6", BUT I have only weighed this much for just under 2 years, while always fat, I used was always around 180/190lbs. I drank alcohol from being 12 on...when I was about 23 I started to drink pretty much every day all day, and 2 years ago I quit, I associate the weight gain with that. i am fairly active, I enjoy walking and go to the gym...I also had only like 5 period my entire life until last october when they returned, I bleed lightly about 20 days a month and 2 days or so have HEAVY bleeding with huge (nearly fist size) clots, the dr says it is normal because I did not bleed for so long, and my uterine lining is thickened. Anywayz I have had panic attacks on and off since I was about 10 years old, usually It would be one or two a year, but when I stopped drinking they seem to have increased in frequency up to now I am having 5 or 6 a day, sometimes they are quick and I can just redirect myself, sometimes I have to go lay down....Many times with them (or even alone) I get very twitchy, like i feel I NEED to move my legs or stomach around, this also is worse at bedtime. I have also been having heart palpitations, they are just random, and last for a minute or two than stop, they are terrifying they are sooo hard, they seem to sometimes be brought on by a specific movement like rolling over in bed at night (this is ahppening almost nightly they wake me up), or sitting down, but sometimes they just start....I dont get an increased heartbeat usually through excercise though, I can walk for an hour on the treadmill and my heart stays at 90bpm the whole time....My doctor did an EKG and it was normal, but as he said its only a 2 minute window...I am waiting for a blood panel test to come back, he tested for thyroid issues/diabetes and a metabolic scan...but I am worried i Have a heart problem, could it be something serious, should I see a specialist, or do you think it is just my panic growing?? It is really taking a toll on my life. Thanks for any help.

  • Sounds to me that you have a combination of situations that relate to anxiety. Restless leg syndrome as well as depression/anxiety. I would talk to your doctor about the possibility of putting you on Klonopin at bedtime. Remember, if you do not get good sleep...it will have many adverse effects during the day. Klonopin is a medication that is given to patients with anxiety, or seizures, or depression, or even as a light muscle relaxant. Also, perhaps you can have a sleep study done. They can record all that happens during your sleep state. Personally, I would inquire about the Klonopin first. Sounds like you've made a lot of positive changes and your body needs to adjust...as well. Good luck and keep up the weight loss!

  • In Traditional Chinese medicine, panic attacks and anxiety are ALWAYS heart related...this is a psychological symptom but it is a symptom of an internal imbalance. Western allopathic medicine does a great disservice IMO by treating this problem as "just in your head". With your history of drinking I would make sure they properly test you for B12 deficiency. Read the post on B12 misdiagnosis - it is very long, but very informative. This may be contributing to your problems. Get a good gyno - fist sized clots and the amount of bleeding you are having is NOT normal. I'd get a transvaginal ultrasound to rule out fibroids, cysts, and other issues. How much caffeine do you consume daily? What foods do you eat daily? How much water do you drink? How is your stress level?Best wishesDOM
