Hi my name is Kim.

I just joined the forum as i wanted to see if anyone might know what could be causing my problem. I always have sore ears & have had quite alot of ear infections and problems with them getting blocked =(

I went to the doctor about a month ago and she said I had fluid in my ears and that it was from a cold I had just had. She advised me to go to the ear clinic and get them suctioned out so I did. That helped but I could still hear ringing in my ears and when I swallow I can hear like a crackling sound so the lady who suctioned them said i might have some fluid behind my eardrums & it should just go.

After that they were fine for a couple of weeks and then my left ear had a little bit of pain but the next day it went and the right ear is now really hurting & has the ringing again =(. I have no idea why my ears are always getting sore and im always getting ear infections, or blocked ears. But what is causing the pain if there is no infection and they aren't blocked.

Argh! so frustrated! :(

  • You may have some sort of infection. It is a good idea to promote immunity. For example, avoid sugar, keep warm, eat fruit rich in vitamin C, etc.If you drink a lot of milk, it causes excess mucus. If you drink a lot of milk, avoid it for some time, and your ears should clear out. There are herbs which may be used to reduce fluid in the ears. A good herb for this is Golden seal. This may be difficult to get. If you can't get it, there are others. I suggest seeing a herbalist.

I'm thinking it is an infection as its quite sore so might have to go to the doctor again =( I hardly drink any milk so that won't be a problem. I've never heard of Golden Seal, will have to see if i can find it tomorrow & buy some oranges. Thanks alot
