my boyfriend has had asthma all his life, and within the last few years he has had more problems breathing.. (which he says is nothing like his asthma), he feels a little heaviness in his chest.. he has shortness of breath and feels like he can not get the full inhale and exhale of each breath, also his chest under the breast bone on the left side seems swollen! is that normal!? he has no insurance and dosn't want to go in hospital debt. does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with him, so i can get the ideas into his head of how serious it is and can be!

  • There are many fee based clinics including outpatient doctoring at hospitals. Many times they can use state funding for testing and so forth. I would make some phone calls and find out what help is available.

  • It could be as serious as a tumor. Try to get health insurance ASAP. In the meantime, you should be able to find a free clinic in your area.
