hi

apologies for the lenght of this. i really need some help and advice. i started going to my dictor about two years ago complaining that the shape of my face was changing. basicly he laughed at me and sent me away. then a year ago i started getting muscle weaknes in the side of my face. it is also in my hand on the same side. i can still use all the muscles but i have to work a bit harder for example im right handed and this is the hand that is affected. i have noticeed of late that i find it hard to do intricate things with my right hand as if im using my left hand to do it. my euesight in my right eye is getting so bad that ive had to get glasses. also when i laugh it really hurts behind both my ears. people laugh at me when i tell them these things but i recently had a passport photo taken and there is a very distintive change in the shape of my face when comppared to my old one. my cheek bones always stood out now the left side of me face is very round. but this is not the side with the muscle weakness. i showed this to my gp and he could see the difference but just told me to mention it to my neurologist but they dont seem too interested in this.

i have had my eyes, ears, dental checks and an mri. all say im fine. can anyone advise me on what to to. its really getting me down

  • yes- this has a lot to do with your life choices.what you are sensing is real.are you very career or money oriented?are you generous about giving charity in secret?do you pray every day? do you believe in God?You are reading this thinking that I am an irritating religious extremist- but this has nothing to do with religion, and everything to dowith your actions. These are the real factors of disease that doctors with the snake on the stick aren't going to tell you about.May God Bless you,Sincerely,Frui.

  • Hi Maryjane,:pAs much as I am a freewilled person I dont belive the crap that was just handed to you by person who replyed before me. I do belive life choices may contribute to alot but this isnt a site for relegious beliefs (thats you eatafruit). As for your symptoms I sympathize I know how it feels to be frustrated knowing something isnt right in your body. My suggestions are as follows. (I am becoming a bit brutual with doctors lately off for my 15th scan today)1. Go to a new GP someone who doesnt know your past history (fresh pair of eyes):rolleyes:2. Have they ordered any blood work? Research your symptoms online and then Point these out to your Doctor. 3.Docs always make you feel like a hypocondriac if you go in and a week later come back again . So try and write down dates and major events that have happened, bring in all evidence in one go so they have to see the changes. Make sure you book a long appointment and be CLEAR to start from the beguning4. Let them know your not going to stop coming until they find the problem. Thats what they are paid for. Dont let them push you out the door like cattle.(really irks me when docs give bandaid fixes.):mad:Most of all like i said you know your body best..Get a new doc and frequent tests because I have had an mri one week come back clear and the next week come back with all sorts of results. So it could be a screw up on the person who is doing the tests! :eek:I hope you get some relief soon...hound those doctors!!Peace and lovespringday

  • Are you sure the problem with your face enlarging is only on the one side? By any chance are your hands and feet getting wider too? (there is a form of giantism umm i cant remember what it's called but it starts with a "a" and ends with a "y", which is caused by things like tumors on the pituitary? gland i think it is, can start occuring at any age.. it will cause the facial features to change (over time the features become courser) and the face to enlarge among other symptoms such as tiredness.

  • Have you explored multiple sclerosis? There is a lot of info on it on the web so you could do a search and see if you may have other symptoms that may fit. Just because you had a normal MRI does not mean you don't have it. They can do a spinal MRI and a lumbar puncture as well as another type of test to determine MS.
