I hope that someone can give me some advice on to why I am feeling so awful latelty. I wake up at least 3 times per night totally soaked in sweat but, freezing cold. I am totally covered in bruises from head to toe and can only account for maybe 10% of them. And, I am talking about nasty bruises. Also to go along with it all I am so tired all the time. I have been taking a multi vitamin for a few weeks now to try to ensure that it is not a lack of nutrition, but, it does not seem to do the trick. I am a 26 year old mother of 2 kids. I have a average to athletic build and try to take good care of my body. " I do smoke 2 packs a week and socially drink tho" I try to keep the stress in my life to a minimum and eat heathy regularly. I don't know what else to do at this point. I don't think I am ready to seek medical advice in fear of being treated like a hypocondriact or maybe finding out something I may not want to hear. Just want to hear what people may think at his point. Friends and family are noticing the differences with me and are starting to ask some questions.. If anything I feel rather embarassed... HELP PLEASE!!!

  • i have heard things about leukemia being related to unaccountable bruising. you should ask to be tested for types of leukemia-whether it is platelets i don't know. i hope this is some help.

  • platelet count (it is a simple blood test) gives you a clear pic if you have leukamea...the first signs of leukamea is usually unaccountable bruises all over and fatigue. Or else it could be extreme deficiency of Vit. C. Check your blood asap to rule out leukamea. Good luck!

  • hiI have a daughter who is 10 years of age and has had bruises on her leg on and off for no apparent reason, The doc had her platelet count done to rule out leukamia (as the previous 2 posters have suggested) and had put her on a course of vit.c., which seems to have worked....No bruises in the last 7 months. Dont want to alarm you but if you have been losing weight and feeling tired...then if i were you, i would get to the doc soon. Good Luck and keep us posted.

  • " I don't think I am ready to seek medical advice in fear of being treated like a hypocondriact or maybe finding out something I may not want to hear." I too thought of possible leukemia, so please go and see the doctor, my aunt died of leukemia and you could have a serious problem, (thou it is probably more likely it isnt, putting your mind at rest will be reassuring to you). She was very young with 3 young children.
