placing stents in the liver bile ducts

I have been told I need to have stents placed in my liver bile duct, and it has to be changed every 3 months and needs to be replaced every 3 months for the rest of my life, does anyone have any information about this and does any one know anything more of what happens to such people who do this procedure ? do they live a normal life ? are they able not to replace the stents and some point or they have to keep replacing it ?
I have the procedure tommorw early morning i would appriciate any kind of help or suggestion

  • my brother has a stent that drains out into a bag tied to his waste for nearly a month now. i do not know when it will be taken out eventually. i was wondering how yours is doing and if you have learned anything more about your case.
