I have had pins and needles in my feet since the start of December and now they are spreading up my legs.
My doctor said it was due to doing too much exercise (I was going 5 days a week) but they still have not gone.

Im really worried it is something more serious.

  • I had the same problem with my hand. The pins and needles feeling spead up my arm. It turned out that I had multiple pinched nerves. The only thing that has been really helping me is accupuncture.

  • this sounds like a lower back problem .above all do not be tempted to think that if you could only move your back around in the right way,you could stop it.tou will only make it worse by moving it in tha acute phase which you are in now.keep it still.lie down. dont wriggle about.dont be surprised if it gets worse over the next few days.you will be doing the best thing.so keep resting .boring ,i know, but better than a lifetime of trouble.make a chart of some sort on which you can record the progress and intensity of symptoms.get the doctor to you, preferably.take his advice, with one proviso:bear in mind that government policy on the treatment of bad backs is dominated by the need to reduce costs,so a few years ago it was "discovered"that the best thing is to get the patient back to work as quickly as possible!it is a treasury driven policy.so be warned.it is true that you should slowly build up your activity level when you enter the recovery phase (three weeks from now if you are very lucky and take your rest duties seriously)but you must not start too soon.you will be ready to get up when the pins and needles stops.the first sign of progress will be when the upward movement stops and the sensation begins to move down your legs.if it doesnt happen that means you have been lying wrongly. i suggest you lie on your back and keep still.if you are male use a buttle for urine.you can get up to defecate if the toilet is on the same level.but no stairs.tough ,i know.let me know how you get on.good luck.
