sounds silly, but i cant seem to get a good nights sleep because i have to urinate every hour or so. I only urinate around half a cup full each time. Ive had an msu done, ive been checked for infection and they are all clear.
My gp said its probably cystitis, but told me there was nothing to prescribe.
It also seems to be worse after eating sweets etc. Now i now the term 'irritable bladder' but dont know what i can do to help. Its got to the point were im scared to drink fluids before driving.
Can anybody recommend anything,
thanks big time.
j.

  • Its not silly but it is annoying embarrassing especially when people ask if you are pregnant because you pee so much and I know that first hand. I was diagnosed as having a disease in the lining of my bladder which causes irritation as my Kidneys empty prompting the sensation to pee and I was prescribed Ditropan which helped but frequent urination can be caused by Diabetes and concern has now been raised my urination may be MS. Good luck!:)

  • Acupuncture is really great for frequent urination and other genitourinary disorders. I have treated myself and other patients very successfully with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I often have patients come to me with back pain or shoulder pain and on further discussion they tell me they pee all the time. After a few treatments they usually can't believe how much that has improved! To find a practitioner near you log on to www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. Hope this helps.DOM

  • I have a nephew who would wet his bed and not know it until he awoke the next morning. His mom took him to a chiropractor every few weeks to realign something, and this seemed to help.

  • I just read something on this today. "A hormone called antidiuretic hormone (ADH) causes the kidney cells to put water back into the blood stream, thus decreasing the amount of water in the urine. More ADH generally is produced at night (resulting in less urine production) than during the day. This design prevents your bladder from filling completely while you are asleep. In some cases, a lack of ADH at night (either because the pituitary gland does not produce enough or because the kidneys are not able to detect the hormone) will result in large volumes of urine being produced while one sleeps. This necessitates regular visits to the restroom, or for the young child or "heavy sleeper," a wet bed." This is quoted from part of an article written by one of the science teachers in our high school. See page 9 on this website http://www.rfpa.org/downloads/8310.pdf. Title: Hormones and God's Governing Hand. THere is more about drinking caffenated beverages...which in turn can lead to sugar being a "Pick me up"? Read the whole article for more info.Hope this helpsBrenda

  • Hi Brenda, thank you for the above reference in relation to 'my urge to pee frequently'. I did open this reference with conviction but was really surprised to see it was a religious script, and that of the jehova witness. Now ive got nothing against any religion, (being from a good catholic background here in Ireland),but it doesnt assist me in my problem, in fact, it annoys me a little that you feel that god is the answer, THUS......... CAN I ASK AANY OTHER USERS OF THIS FORUM, OR ARE YOU ALL GEORGE BUSH, AMERICAN BIBLE BASHERS, SAVING THE WORLD FROM EVIL AND URINARY INFECTIONS, whats the best treatment for peeing alot? take care.

We are not a cult. I hope you did glean a little info, about the problem of peeing alot. Maybe you can bring this up when you go into your next doc. appt. By the way I don't believe this is true at all and now I believe you have offended the ones that are American "... ARE YOU ALL GEORGE BUSH, AMERICAN BIBLE BASHERS, SAVING THE WORLD FROM EVIL AND URINARY INFECTIONS" Once again, I'm sorry Brenda
