My 13 year old sister started passing out about a month ago. It does not seem to be related to being active or inactive. She has passed out during and after volleyball games, during marching band practice, and sitting down in art class. She has been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance several times over the past few weeks. When she passes out, she is unconscious anywhere from a few seconds to an hour. The doctors have run every test I have ever heard of, but they all come back normal. These include EEG, EKG, MRI, Catscan, drug screens, tilt table test, among others. They have hooked her up to a monitor that she has to wear for one month. Today, she passed out at school and the EMT suggested that she was faking it, which really upset my mother. Please help with a diagnosis!! We know something is wrong. She does not respond to painful stimuli when unconscious. Please help!

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that my sister was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia, and she had heart surgery to fix it.

  • Wow, I didn't see the first post, but I'm glad she is doing better, I'm sorry the EMT said that.
