please tell me''is hyperparathyroidism harmful to brain and body because in this condition serum calcium level is elevated or only elevated pth can also cause health problem????
i mean is high PTH level as dangerous to brain and body as high serum calium level???
i know about secondary hyperparathyroidism but are symptoms of secondary hyperparathyroidism also like the symptoms of primary hyperparathyroidism??????
in brief please tell me the harm ful effect of elevated PTH with borderline normal serum calcium..

  • I'm not sure what you are asking...Do you have primary, secondary (or tertiary) hyperparathyroidism?Do you have any kidney problems?What symptoms are you concerned about?Sometimes primary hyperparathyroidism is due to being part of one of the "MEN" (multiple endocrine neoplasia) syndromes, and then yes, sometimes you can see pituitary tumors with them... But this is rare, and you'd have to have primary hyperparathryoidism from a tumor of your parathryoid gland for this to even really be considered a possibility. It does not sound like you fall into this category.I don't know if just having high levels of PTH circulating can do anything to your brain by itself. But maybe it can. I'm not sure if that's what you were asking, though.
