please tell me what kind of error may antidepressant produce in PTH and hyperparathyroid testing.please reply.

  • According to Mosby's Manual of Diagnsotic and Laboratory Tests, 2nd ed p 348:Drugs that increase PTH include phosphates, anticonvulsants, steroids, isoniazid, lithium, and rifampin.Drugs that decrease PTH include cimetidine, pindolol, and propranolol.Are you on lithium or an anticonvulsant? These are often used in depression and bipolar.Hope this helpsBest Wishes.
