I have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (Stage IV) which has spread to the liver and some lymph glands. I recently underwent an ERCP where a stent was placed in the liver bile duct to keep the duct from closing because of the pressure of the tumor. Chemotherapy with Gemcitibene (sp?) has been recommended. Surgery is not an option, nor is radiation therapy. Are there any other therapies available, chemo or otherwise?

  • hi, I just read your post, as my mom was just diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. There is a drug called Tarceva (Erlotinib, generic? not sure) that she will be starting on in the next few days. I have been doing some research on it and it appears to be doing alot of good for alot of people. Please google it, there is alot of info out there, There are even resources to help you pay for it if needed. It is quite expensive. Also, talk to your dr about this medicine, he/she should be able to provide you with a booklet, with all the particulars about this drug. blessings
