I have no clue what is happenening to me.

Male, 25

About a month ago, I had shortness of breath where I felt like with the same effort, I could only breath 80% deep. (no other strange sensation at that point in time) It went away after 2 days, then I get problem where I feel like I have a knot in my chest and had to breath (but I had no shortness of breath). I went to see a physician, and had a body check, all my vital signs are normal from the test.

The symptoms went away for a week, and then came back. Previously, it comes and goes, then, it wasn't as severe, but it was constant. I was really worried because it could be my lung or heart... I went to see the physician again, he took my heart's electric signal and it was normal, but just to be sure, he sent me to take a chest x-ray picture, a 2-D echo, and a stress test + nuclear medicine test.

I only got the x-ray picture result so far, and it's normal. Still waiting for the other results to come in. But during this time, my breathing/chest problem completely went away, now I can sense my heart beating very clearly when I stay still and not exhaling or inhaling, and the bottom of my feet are always cold (except when I am about to go to sleep). I am not sure whether I am having symptoms of anxiety due to what I experienced before or this is just a further complication of what happened. I am having problems sleeping because I fear there may be something wrong with my heart, at the same time, I am wondering whether all of these symptoms I am experiencing came from worrying too much...

  • HI, Your symptoms sound like what I have. Sarcoidosis. Your doctor should order a cat scan of your chest. Sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disorder which causes granulomas or lumps in your body. They mostly show up in the lungs. It effects your whole body. Although it is not cancer it can cause all kinds of problems including what you are experiencing. Ask your doctor about it. Good-luck.
