Hello, i am a 17 year old male and a High School student
Ok so every time in winter when I am about to do a activity (Boxing, basketball, running, etc..) or even stand under sun my skin starts to itch very painfully, its mostly all over my upper body and legs. It is really really painfully, it feels like someone is poking me with thousands of needles all over my body. But once I get sweaty it goes away. Sweating makes it go away. Or either i have to cool my body down by pouring some water around my body. And now I have started feeling that the itching attack creates small little white pimple looking things all over my body. Once I get sweaty they go away as well.

It even starts even if I m sitting in a classroom. For example when I get nervous, confused or when my body start heating up and it creates the itch and I cant get sweaty in class, so I really have to try my best to annoy it, usually it goes away after couple mins when I cool down. But it’s not like a one time thing, it happens to me every time I m in those kinda conditions (nervous, heating up etc...) Which is part of everyday's life.

I went to my doctor and she sent me to a dermatologist but that was in May and my itching thing was pretty much gone and so he couldnt do anything. Lately I been using Eucerin Anti-Itch calming cream, i really cant tell if its working or no. it does makes it a little better and makes the itch bearable for a while.

  • I get the same thing, I think it is a form of dry skin, I use a good moisture lotion and it does not bother me. After a few days using it every day I can cut back to once a week and it stays in check. If I shower in hot water it makes it worst.

  • I am a 37 year old male and have been fighting the same thing since 2004. When it first started I went to a Dermatologist and he put me on all kinds of antihistamine blockers which seemed to make the situation worse. I have since tried many different lotions and have yet found one that will completely resolve the problem. Last winter I thought I had it under control but since this year has started it seems like I can’t. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good fragrance free lotion? I have been using Aveeno daily moisturizer.

  • I forgot to mention that the treatment for xerosis is moisturizing lotions or creams.

  • I also forgot to say that itching is amild form of pain and that aspirin can often help relieve symptoms;also, ibuprofen or naproxen might help as any NSAID might.:)

  • I had a problem with painful, red, itchy legs mostly in the winter. Dermatologist prescription didn't help but he then recommended Neutrogena Body Moisturizer which I buy OTC and which has no fragrance. After a shower, only partially towel dry the affected area (legs) and put on lotion. It really worked for me and I use it year long, just in case. • All I can say is so far about this crippling condition is that dermatologists have not been very helpful, simply applying lotion will not cure it, and an anti-histimine like Zyrtec won't cure it either (it helps some, but not much). You better see a specialist for your allergic reaction about your condition maybe they can help you with some pills, it must be prescribe by your doctor.

  • I have benn suffering fromt his for last 3 10 years I am 35 now, the only solution I found for the problem till now is to walk or run till sweat properly every day, in this way. during the day the problem reduces even I do not feel at all in cases of walking or on the street or working. and when I start walking for sweat I perfer to use a pullover to get the sweat easy and after some days of regular walking and runing it even hurt less and sweat comes out faster and does not bother so much.

Facing it from the age of 15 - 16. Well, isn't it interesting to notice that everyone starts facing this problem when he gets over the age of maturity? i.e. When he is sexually mature. A biology teacher told me that lot of masterbation could be a reason of this which expells required calcium and some vitamins out of your body. Eating an Orange helps me in this case since it has a lot of required stuff in it. And ofcourse, if I don't masturbate for like over a month, I face this problem really less. Hope, I answered your question.

  • hey i am also suffering from this winter itching problem and i have found the way to stop it nearly for 1 hour but not completely.i will suggest you to use patanjali divya drashti(an indian product)and the good thing is that it is ayurvedic as there is no side-effects.this liquid must be applied on whole body and this will make your body very cool and then when you will go in sunlight your body will not get heated up and you will not suffer from itching.it is very cheap(just 10rs. or 1/6$).i hope this will help you....good luck.
