I can’t seem to get a diagnosis. I have a sore throat, swollen glands, cold symptoms, my tonsils are enlarged and sore as well. I have difficulty swallowing. It feels like I have a lump in my throat. I feel like I have a fever but I don’t. Headache, dry mouth, fatigued and body aches. I was tested for strep, negative. Given Zpak. Still ill. This is affecting everything. I've had the sore throat for about 3 weeks now. The cold, body aches, swollen tonsils and headache only started about a week ago so I don’t know if it’s unrelated or if it is more symptoms. I don’t know if it’s relevant but I quit smoking about a month ago. Initially I thought that's what this was, but it seems extreme to be a form of nicotine withdrawal. Especially since I have not had a cough or had any mucous coming up. I’m confused, scared it might be cancer or something that’s life threatening.

  • go back to dr. or call and tell them the zpak didn't work. may have to switch to a different antibiotic. could possibly just be a stubborn tonsillitis. in the meantime drink as much fluids as you can force yourself to drink, get popsicles if you have to. gargle with warm salt water and take ibuprofen if no allergies.
