I am a 19 yr. old female who just recently started experiencing joint pain. About 4 days ago I discovered a reddish-purplish pin point dotted rashin a localized area on my back the size of a tennis ball. Than last night I discovered about 50 little finger printed bruises all over my legs along with the spread of the rash on two localized areas on both of my legs right before my knees in exactly the same spot. It does not itch though it is very uncomfortable in the sense of soreness and achiness... if anyone knows what this could be please respond!..I have went to the doctor and they told me that they hadnt seem anything like this and that I must have put the bruises on myself! I can assure I have not and they have appeared completely unexplained. Please help!

Please help!I don't say this alot, but the doctor you saw is an IDIOT.You either have an autoimmune disease or a neoplastic disorder arising, but it's hard to tell because your symptoms are limited. The best advice I can give to you is to see an internal medicine physician. They should be able to run the necessary tests to see which specialist you should see next, probably a rheumatologist. Whatever disease you are suffering from is one that should be discussed with you in person, not on an online forum. I wish you the best of luck.

  • Ok an update to my original post! The doctor I saw today is sending me to a blood specialist so maybe I can finally get an answer... I am very nervous though. I feel like I am too young for something to be wrong with me!

  • I just experienced the same thing. It happened a week ago (Jan 7, 2011) and I was itchy all over like I was having an allergic reaction to something. I went home to take a shower and noticed my entire thigh was covered in fingerprint bruises and some bigger ones. I do not bruise easily, and this did not happen from scratching. Since then, it's been a week. Three days after this happened I developed an itchy rash around my bruised area. Here is my journal of this occurance http://myallergytopandora.wordpress.com. I had blood tests run but am awaiting my next appointment on the 20th to find out my results. Since the 7th I've had to stay on H1 and H2 inhibitors to keep from itching, shivering and having my face swell and turn red. I had gone to the emergency room the 7th and they prescribed me stuff for an allergic reaction. Really want to know what I'm allergic to if it's an allergy...
