I am 27 years old, and back in april i fell, i know that seems like forever away. I fell off a 13 inch step, and herd a pop, and a few snaps. I continued to walk about a half mile, and it swelled up really bad. I have been to the doctor, and they took x-ray after x-ray, no breaks, I spent nearly 6 months on crutches and in and out of casts. They kept just saying it was a sprain untill I threw a fit, and they did some test, and then I had a syndimosis surgry back in july and had two screws put though my ankle, was not able to walk again for 12 weeks.
I am doing my pt, and now walking, no cast or cane or anything, i have HORRIBLE pain. I am not medicated at all, but if i walk more then a few blocks, i get cramps, and pain from my ankle to my hip. I get these horrible shooting pains from the inside of my leg, it's hard to explain, but it feels like it's the middle of my leg. It hurts to walk, it hurts to sit, it hurts to wear shoes. I get craps in the bottom of my foot, the tendon that runs from my big toe cramps atleast 20 times a day. I have a hard time sleeping, my doctor refuses to do an mri, mostly because now i have these stupid screws in my legg. I have seen 4 doctors but they are all the same HMO. I am thinking of going to a doctor on my own money just to see what they say. I don't want to take more meds, all they do is keep prescribing more pain meds and muscle relaxers and say do your pt. Which i do, but it still is REALLY REALLY painful. Anyideas?
