Pain mainly in left arm

I have been experiencing constant pain, and a burning sensation in my left shoulder, arm and on the left side of my left breast. At times my joints feel painful as well. I have also experienced pain right below the left breastbone and heavy feeling in chest. Constant belching even after meals is also a problem (mostly in an attempt to relieve the feeling as if something is resting on my chest).

A few months ago and I did an ECG test which came back normal (May 2006) and a Barium Meal (March 2006) and the test results were normal.

Any suggestions what this could be?

  • UMM you need to see a Dr. Pain in arms, chests and even legs can be related to an arterial or venus occlusion. PAD, peripheral artery disease comes to mind. Please go to a Dr.

  • I am not a doctor, but have read that pain in the left arm could be the first sign of a heart attack. Please see a doctor as soon as possible.

Please see a doctor as soon as possible. This is not something that you usually feel for a long time if you are gonig to havea heart attack. usualyl the onset is a couple hours before or ever a couple minutes before the heart attack gets to you, i wouldnt see this as a heart attack, you havea pulled muscle or a pulled rotator cuff.

  • Here's a longshot...A few years ago I would get a strange burning sensation in my right forearm, a strange two inch patch it would last for days. Somewhere I found a suggestion that this could be linked to gallbladder problems. I thought no way, I don't fit the gallbladder problem profile, but later it turned out to be the case! Its worth looking into anyway. Good luck.

  • are you female??? Get a mammogram...I had arm pain for years...hot and burning in my right arm...my naturopath said it was radiation and I went through a series of sea salt and baking soda baths. I had the condition for several years..I bought an acupuncture TDP lamp (do a google search) and placed my arm under it for weeks for like an hour daily. Poison like came out, like it was drawing it out. I had a series of acupuncture treatments, too, and today, it is 95% better...no more hot burning pain keeping me up....and I had it for years. But you also need to rule out heart condition and breast cancer.
