Hello,everyone.

I have been having this pain in the URQ for awhile now. At first I thought it was my ribs, because my ribs were tender to touch. After being on steroids for over a week, along with anti inflammatories, the rib pain went away, but came back, just not as bad. The pain in the URQ is still there. It feels like something is pushing on the inside of my ribs. Like there is something stuck up under there. If I sit for a period of time, it gets worse. I have had my gallbladder removed (about 6 years ago). It is really uncomfortable for me. I have an appt to see my gastro dr this Thursday. But, I am curious if there is anyone that has this pain, and what has it been for you? I have "attacks" like my gallbladder was still there. And I still hurt after I eat. But, I don't know if anything has to do with my ribs hurting still, or the pain that feels like something is up under my ribs?

Any advice would be appreciated. I have had an CT scan when this started, about two years ago. Also, diagnostic laparoscopy. I just recently had bloodwork on my liver done, and it came back OK.

Thanks, again!

  • Did the gallbladder surgery show that your gallbladder was the problem?

  • When I had my u/s for my gallbladder, it showed "sludge". When the surgeon took it out, I had alot of scar tissue from the attacks. But, other than that, I still have problems with it.

  • Hi Jilly, I have pain underneath my R Iliac Crest. The hip bone that sticks out on your hip. You described the same pain, but different location. It is like something is pressing on it from the inside. I have other pain as well, but I thought I'd share the above. I just had a CT scan and all was clear. It is frustrating. I do also have CFS, though not diagnosed. I have read about stuff being stuck in the biliary tract to the liver. Stones, left over from gall bladder surgery, etc. I wish I had more to offer, specifically.
