I have had this pain for ever now. Tried everything. It fades away a bit but never goes away.
-----------------------------------
Location:
under the ribs on right side, sometimes a bit in the solar plexus region. When I press on right side I feel mild sharp pain which goes to the right side towards the stomach, as if some painful part is being pushed. IfI slap myself on lower right back on the ribs from behind I feel a sharp pain, again in the right side lower part of the chest.
Abdomen symptoms history:
I have had constipation in my youth(am 35 yrs now). I learnt to manage it by exercise, water, right food etc. Now I don't have constipation per say, only some days evacuation is not full which becomes okay in the next days when I attend more to the food water etc.
I developed small hiatus hernia in my youth too. I also have gastritis which gets inflammed now and then. When I get late for a meal, the stomach starts cramping, pain, discomfort, lowered energy level, gas, general inflammation of the abdomen.
There is often a mild and dull pain in the colon on the left lower side. This is usually when evacuation in not complete.
--------------------------

Given all these symptoms I have always associated the upper right pain with liver or the large intestine(where it bends towards the left side). But it is strange that pain has not gone away after so much of efforts down the years at diet, exercise, yoga, gym etc.

What could it be? Could it be a kidney stone?

Thats right where your gall bladder and liver are...ask abot having a Hida Scan (thats check the function of your gall bladder) I've been having pain right there too, only all my tests are normal, and when it gets really bad it wraps around to my back and up my sholder.
