I am 16 and for about 9 months i've been having the following problems:

-Acute and concentrated pain under left ribs. Comes at random or when i'm stressed out and can last up to 20 minutes. Soemtimes the pain may surge to my back or across the chest, interrupting breathing. Sometimes I just have to wait out the pain but other times shallowed breathing and moving makes it fade away.
-Stomach pain/burning directly after or a few hours after eating or when hungry.
-Heartburn (I have a history of acid reflux. I took medication for it a few years ago but it didn't work and I never went back for it.)
-Pulsating pains in random places like the arm/leg or palm

I do not smoke or drink btu i've lived in a house w/secondhand smoke for maybe 8 years or so. (i'm female btw). Any help you give me is SOOOOO greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

  • I used to have this problem. I had several tests caried out they showed that i had to much lactic acid in my stomach they put me on tablets and the tablets did the trick and the pain totally disapeared after a year or so i came off the tablets and ive been for the most part fine occasionally get pains but nothing serious. As for the chest pain this could be a heart problem where your heart skips a beat every now an again you should have the chest and lungs examined All in all you really should go to the doctors an keep going back sooner or later they will have to refer you to a specialist an if nothing happens then keep at it you will get the result you want

  • GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is not something that goes away on it's own (unless you lose weight,or drastically change your diet). Stomach acid can erode the esophagus causing significant pain. Go to the doc and get some Nexium. They will want to make sure your esophagus is ok by swallowing some barium and getting an upper G.I. xray, hopefully.

  • i had wolf parkinson's white before, and history of heartburn. I have an appt. for a stress test, echo, and holter on monday, we'll see how that goes. I also take prevacid. but it isnt really helping, it seems the only the thing that dosent aggravate my stomach is eating soup. I was also taking birth control, can that affect the heart? or make you have random pains? ive been off them for.. 2 weeks. can symtoms still persist. I also have anemia. hopefully, everything goes back to normal. thanks!

  • It could be an indication of a heart condition. You need some serious tests run kiddo.
