I am in fairly good shape (61 years old) I am physically active.
This happens once or twice a month usually at night in bed. I have had various blood test done all negative and had a scope of my stomach...negative. My appetite is fine, no weight loss and bowel movements are fine. Other than the symptoms below I feel great.

symptoms: it starts with a pain in my cheek area sinus?? sharp pain, then I get a pain in the upper ab area straight across. pain is very sharp. May last up to 15 minutes. If I lie on my back I get relief. Taking antiacid does not help. It appears to be not related to what I have eaten.
There is no swelling in the ab area and it is not sore to touch. After I have this pain I feel poorly for the rest of the day. Then I am fine feel great for a few weeks till it happens again.

any ideas?
