I'm hoping that perhaps someone may be able to help me. I'm 24 years old and I have had pain in my left ovary for about 8 years now. I was an athlete throughout high school and college so I was always told that it was either a pulled muscle or gas. When I graduated from college about 2 years ago and the pain didn't go away I began to get more concerned. I had all of my bowels checked and they came back "normal". My pap smears have always come back normal as have blood tests. I had an ultra-sound (vaginal) done a few days ago and luckily the pain was ocurring that day and when the technician was looking around and got near my left ovary, I had a lot of pain (the same as always). She said that everything seemed fine and the Doctor wanted to wait to see how my most recent pap smear comes back before making the next decision. I've been placed on antibiotics to see if that helps anything (I tend to bleed after...well anything: sex, a pap smear even the ultrasound!) sometimes a little, sometimes like a period (mine are really bad). Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been through 3 different kinds of birth control pills and even tried the nuva ring to see if it would help the bleeding. The technician said that she couldn't see any cysts and I'm just afraid of another 8+ years of pain, but I especially am concerned now that I'm married and wanting to have kids in the next few years, I'm afraid that whatever is affecting my ovary/bleeding issues may cause fertility issues. Please help! Any suggestions are welcome!
