My husband started having absence type seizures Jan 14 2008. In the middle of the night he got up and started getting "ready for work" he was very disoriented. Unsure of year, president, etc. Weakness in left side, we went to dr and they thought he had a stroke, but had not. they admitted him into the hospital and did a spinal tap. By the time all that was done he was back to normal (10 hours later) then the seizures just started daily. we have been to baylor college of med in houston. he has other symptoms, like his face will get bright red, not a lupus mask, the whole face. and his face will get hot to the touch, and he will not have even gone outside. then later his face wil actually peel like a sunburn. also we have noticed a heat intolerance once in a while..where his body temp will actually drop to 94 or 95 degrees. this happened once 2 years ago and lasted 6 months then stopped. but with no red face. both instances were preceeded with 2-3 months of flu like symptoms and nausea and vomitting that pretty much stopped when the seizures started. We desperately need help. we have seen gastrologists, rheumotologist, neurologist, endocrinologist, everything but a gynocologist!!! lol. sorry i have to find humor, this whole thing is heartbreaking.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
