Wonder if anyone can help us. Our 9 month old baby girl woke up from her nap, very lethargic, not very responsive, and her eyes seemed to roll up in her head from time to time. She also seemed to have trouble holding her head up. She just kind of let her head hang to the side. We rushed her to the ER. On check in, she vomited quite a bit, and I noticed her legs seemed to be jerking as well. After only being there for 15 minutes or so, she seemed to wake up, had no fever, ate well, and seemed fine. The doctor on duty told us that he did not think it was a seizure. He said she seemed fine and alert, and didnt see a need to torture her with bloodwork or other tests just yet. He said that he had seen babies get caught in some kind of strange, sleep state, where they werent quite asleep or awake. That theory just doesnt sit well with me. From my view, she was having a seizure, or almost appeared to be showing signs of having a stroke. She has had no health issues, was full term, and seems to be fine now. She hasnt been sick or had a fever. But I just worry that its something more. Has anyone else had this experience? Does the sleep theory of the doctor make sense, or are those signs of a seizure? Please help. I am afraid to go to bed tonight.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
