  • Liver detox according to eastern medicine is oddly similar to an allergy elimination diet in western medicine. Avoid commonly problematic foods COMPLETELY, like wheat, milk, soy, corn. Eat fresh (not processed and pre-packaged), unseasoned fruits and vegatables, rice, maybe a little bit of meat. No baked goods, no seasonings. If you see results after a few weeks, you can re-introduce questionable items one at a time.

  • Doctors cover up the complications of milk intolerence and the dairy association spends tons of money trying to sell it to intolerent people. Its been linked to high blood pressure and joint pain, but doctors often say silly things like "a little bit won't hurt" because there are so few alternative sources of calcium, and traditional calcium pills don't really deliver the right type of calcium the body needs. Wheat intolerence can also create a temporary milk protein intolerence (different than lactose intolerence).Seaweed (aka sea vegetable) is a very complete source of carbs, protein, and all manner of vitamins and minerals (incl. calcium). It also tastes good with rice :) Just don't put the soy sauce on it for a while, as that usually contains both soy AND wheat, two of the worst intolerence offenders (sesame oil might be OK)."Brain fog" is a common side effect of partially digested proteins found in milk, wheat, and soy. The protein breaks down into exorphins similar to what the body makes during an adrenaline rush. In a compromised digestive system, these exorphins can enter the blood stream and eventually find their way into the opium receptors in the brain.

  • :D Turmeric You Say; Well, i'll tell you that turmeric is one of the most benificial herbs i've ever tryed. Cleansing my immune systems like a finely tuned race car. The dosage that i take is one 00 size capsual a day, this is better purchased in small quantitys through a health food store, or your local grocer, just the powder is fine. You can cap this up yourself. Now on to a web site that will teach you how to use it in cooking & etc. http://whfoods.org/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=78 Have a good ride; if for any reason this is in error let me know.:D

  • Hello,I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and I do agree that acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine would be very helpful for you (as well as for your sister with her diabetes) To find an acupuncturist near you please visit www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. Depending on where you live, you may have difficulty finding someone who also specializes in Chinese herbs, but try to find one. Oriental Medicine diagnoses the individual, not the disease. So I can't give you a specific treatment for fibromyalgia. One suggestion I have is to check out these websites: www.wholeapproach.com and www.candidasupport.org. Candida overload is often tied to fibro, and it's worth looking into. At the whole approach website you can print out a recommended food list, which is very well done. By the way, a very easy food therapy to help with blood sugar regulation is fresh squeezed limes in water - take one lime (organic if possible) and squeeze into 4 cups fresh water. Drink throughout the day. Hope this helps and good luck to you.Doctor of Oriental Medicine

  • WHEN YOU TAKE ANTIBIOTICS- THEY DESTROY THE BAD BACTERIA. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ALSO DESTROY THE GOOD BACTERIA!!! THEY DON'T DISCERN ANY DIFFERENCE. IN CHINESE MEDICINE (I AM STUDYING TO BE AN ACUPUNCTURE PHYSICIAN AND HERBALIST):p HERE IS AN ANALOGY THAT WAS TAUGHT TO ME BY ONE OF MY CHINESE PROFESSORS: WHEN YOU TAKE ANTIBIOTICS, YOU KILL BOTH GOOD AND BAD BACTERIA LEAVING YOU DEFENSELESS. YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND ALLOW THE THEIF IN. THE ANTIBIOTIC ALLOWS THE "THIEF" TO HIDE IN THE HOUSE AND DO MORE DAMAGE. RATHER THAN BUILDING UP GOOD SECURITY OUTSIDE AND INSIDE AND MAKING THE THIEF LEAVE (holistic care) THE ANTIBIOTICS ALMOST GUARANTEE THERE WILL BE MORE PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD. PLUS MOST FOLKS DON'T TAKE THE FULL PRESCRIPTION, WHICH ALSO JUST MAKES THE BACTERIA HIDE, GET STRONGER AND MORE RESILIENT, AND IT COMES BACK READY FOR TROUBLE!!! IF YOU ARE THE TYPE THAT WILL TAKE ANTIBIOTICS- THEN Y0U MUST TAKE PROBIOTICS (ACIDOPHILUS) TO RESTORE THE GOOD NECESSARY BACTERIA- OR YOU WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES I.E UNCONTROLLED YEAST/CANDIDA, NOT THE PROPER FLORA AND FAUNA TO KEEP YOUR BODY (INTESTINES) HEALTHY. EVENTUALLY ANTIBIOTICS STOP WORKING AND - BECAUSE YOU ALSO SUPPRESSED YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM EVERY TIME YOU GOT SICK- SO DOES YOUR OWN DEFENSES. THIS IS WHEN THINGS LIKE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES AND OPPORTUNISTIC INFECTIONS THRIVE!!! SOME PEOPLE HAVE OVERUSED (ABUSED) ANTIBIOTICS TO THE POINT THAT THEY NO LONGER WORK - THE BUGS HAVE GROWN SMARTER AND STRONGER (MRSA) AND THEY NEED MILD CHEMOTHERAPEUTICS JUST FOR A REGULAR BACTERIAL INFECTION LIKE STREP!!! EVENTUALLY- NOTHING WORKS THEN WHERE ARE WE AS A SOCIETY??? BACK TO THE BLACK PLAGUE??!!! IF WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING IN OUR ARSENOL TO COMBAT INFECTIONS/ GAME OVER!!!PROTECT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM- DON'T TAKE AN ANTIBIOTIC EVERYTIME YOU GET THE SNIFFLES!!! ALLOW YOUR BODY TO BUILD UP RESISTANCE AGAINST VARIOUS MICROBES. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE IN THE LONG RUN! HEALTH BE WITH YOU!~NAMASTE'

  • Dear Tenngal71,I don't mean to alarm you... but you may want to be tested for Multiple Schlerosis. My mother had the symptoms you state (and others) prior to her diagnosis.MS is a difficult disease to pin down, in that it effects people differently, there are 2 catagories: Exhaserbating Remitting & Chronic Progressive. It usually effects women along the 49th parallel worldwide. Despite being difficult to pin down, the test to confirm diagnosis has been straight-forward for the past 25 years at least. You get a spinal tap and they test the fluid. It also shows up in MRIs as white patches (plaques) where the neverous tissue has been scarred (lost mylin). When my mother was finally diagnosed she had been struggling with yeast, brain fog, and non-specific generalized pain. 25 years later... she has MS, Fibromyalgia, OsteoArthritis, Spinal Stenosis (60 yrs old), and some dementia caused by the MS I believe. I truly hope if you decide to investigate this that you do not get diagnosed with MS, but if you do make sure that you look into all the support systems you can find. There are many treatments available now that were not available when my mom was finally diagnosed 25 years ago.Good luck and God BlessP.S. Please forgive any spelling errors, I am in a hurry but wanted to help you find the answer as soon as possible if it is MS because if you act quickly with todays treatments you might be able to freeze the progression. As there is still no cure for this autoimmune disease the best anyone can hope for is to prevent it altogether or to stop its progress as soon as they become aware. If you don't have life insurance, you may want to get that BEFORE your diagnosis so you can provide for your loved one's if neccessary since it will be expensive and difficult to acquire thereafter. Hopefully all my words have been unneccessary.
