Hello. :] I am a 22 year old female, residing in Ohio. My health and well being seem to be less than ideal. To get to the point, Ill try to list all culprits that I can think of, which would matter.. At the age of 17, I started having a ton of gastrointestinal issues. Runny stool for months, sudden, excessive weight loss, general issues involving digestion, horrible pain.. After 2 years of testing and no diagnoses, I gave up. (Note- I was on the Depo-Provera shot from 15-19, and was showing all the common, and less common side effects. I chalked it up and assumed it was responsible.)

I am now 22 and have had chronic lower back pain, with the occasional stabbing pain every couple days for a few months now. The pain is worse on the lower right side. When the stabbing pain starts, it shoots up my back and around my rib cage.I was recently diagnosed with '2 large pre-pyloric ulcers.' went on Prevacid for 40 days to go get another endoscopy and find that along with the 2 pre-pyloric ulcers there was now another. '1 large duodenal (spelling?) ulcer.) The G.I.and my family doctor figured the back pains were caused by my ulcers. Now, my stomach hurts less and my back more and more. The only thing my C.T. Scan showed was a malrotated kidney.

I've lost 50 pounds, quite abruptly. The pain in my back is enough to make me scream and cry for hours. It's even caused hospital visits. I am constantly tired. I have a weakened immune system, now. Please help me? All blood tests and xrays and pipida scans are coming back normal. It's to the point that my mother wants to take me to the Cleveland clinic.

  • It is also worse at night and in the mornings, which I've read indicates swelling.. It doesn't hurt in my bones, though. It almost seems internal. I also take perkoset and muscle relaxers which do not help.. Along with cerefate and celexa. Trying to get used to vitamins since i vomit almost 50% of my meals..Just trying to give more information about my issues. Any advice would help.. Really.

  • Because of the vomiting and the duodenal ulcer, I'm not really absorbing a lit of nutrients, I guess. Any time there is a common bug, cold or flu, I get it. And it seems to take me much longer to get over, than your average Joe. I don't believe I have an autoimmunity disorder, it just seems to be a side effect caused by the other issues.

  • Thank you for the advice. I seem to suffer from a lot of the symptoms but it also seems to list every symptom known to man, heh. On the bright side, I have an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic on Thursday, in their Gastro Unit.. Hopefully this will provide some type of answer.
