Hi , please help! My sis had symptoms over 2 months, starting with ears being plugged all the time, earaches , had taken earache antibiotic, did not help, lymphs behind ears are getting larger, Went to see dr who said since ears are clear and she doesnt have other symptoms to take antibiotic, it lasted for 2 weeks, symptoms came back with worse: facial numnbess left side from the forehead to feet, going to left side, sinus pressure and she felt like inside of the throat went numb to... 2 ER visits, and visit with dr , and neurologist did not reveal anything, including MRI of the head, showed sinuses clear. Now she has weakness, numbness that comes and goes whenever, ears are plugged constantly, not sleeping well at nights at all , felt like she is really tired, and has headaches starting behind the ears and going backhead. She had symptoms of migraines two years ago and is on migraine med but does not have migraines at this time. The scary part is the numbness that comes and goes.... and today it went to her back all over back. Dr did give her antibiotic for sinus a week ago , and prednisone for immune system.... but it is getting worse.... anyone has these kind of symptoms... We tried to ask for ENT referral but did not get it from dr.... who my guess does not think she needs to check these lymphs out....

  • I presume you're talking about lymph nodes, not lymph. There are lots of things that can cause enlarged lymph nodes. Are they only behind her ears? How large are they? Are they tender?Does she have any systemic symptoms such as fever, chills,or night sweats?Does she have any weight loss?

  • yes the ones behind the ears, are enlarged, feels like big bumps when u touch it, and yes it is tender.. Her dr said that it happens sometimes and goes away on its own... There is no fever , just dull pain behind ears and goes into the nubmness over her face and sinuses.. she takes med for sinus but its not better, it is worse with numbness.. She is not sleeping at nights and yes when she has these episodes with numbness she is getting really sweaty and cold... all whiped out! The scary part that the nubmness goes over her body and now it is really tight and feels numb in all of her back...feels really weak too I am trying to get a hold of her neurologist.. but no luck... Her dr referred her out to neurologist and GI since there is sensation in abd area too... but otherwise... no luck.. and the weekend is coming up.. she cant take OTC meds as it makes her sick: iboprofen,aspirin...

  • Her appetite is okay, she becomes really white around her mouth when she has these episodes of numbness, could that be heartrelated? her dr Did some lab work including thyroid, mono, it all came back negative... At least thats what we've been told!
