I have had bloating, passing lots of gas & abdominal cramps as well as nausia. I have also got abnormal bowel movements, consipation & diarrhea. I went to the doctor and she told me I had IBS and gave me some tablets containing pepermint. These dont help. I bought some more pepermint tablets from a health food shop & these didnt help either. I even take probiotic drinks in the morning & yoghurts meant to help digestion which dont help either. I think I might have a food intolerance but the doctors have tested for wheat intolerance and once when I cut out all milk it worked for a while, but then the same symptoms re-occured, so i guessed it wasnt that either. Any suggestions on what to do to relieve symptoms because i tend to stay in my room when passing lots of gas, noone would want to be near me, i wouldnt be near me if i had the choice!

  • Can be the Thanksgiving dinner that you had!!! Just kidding- Sounds serious. I think that you should get a good old fashioned rectal exam. I would say its IBS.

  • I would still consider the dairy as a possible cause. Don't rule it out yet. You may not have an allergy. You may have lactose intolerance. Look at soy as a possible cause even if you don't intentionally eat soy products like tofu or soy milk. Soy is being increasingly put in many many foods and people are consuming more of it than they did ten years ago. But it's not really showing up on the radar yet as a food allergen the way milk and wheat are because it's so new. But bloating and gas can be caused by soy. It's a very difficult to digest protein. Also consider oats as well and other grains that cause bloating.
