I am writing in regards to my husband who has been having serious bouts with depressive like symptoms on a monthly basis. It is clearly cyclical as his symptoms appear almost always on the first or second of the month. He experiences sleeplessness, lack of energy and interest, a feeling of uneasiness, muscle tension, restlessness, aggitation and irritability, trouble concentrating to name a few. He has had blood tests to rule out Lyme, low testosterone levels and thyroid disorders. He has seen his primary physician an internal disease specialist, a neurologist and now a psychiatirst. He was been prescribed Lexapro, Cymbalta, Wellbutrin and Lithium. None of which alleviated any of these symptoms. This period lasts for approx. 10 days and then is gone. He will wake up one day and feel better, clearer and by the end of the day feel great. The reverse is true for the onset. We are very dissatisfied with the doc as he will only suggest to increase his dosage of meds. My husband is fed up with the meds and the doctor but neither one of us can figure out what the heck is going on. Any ideas? Thank you :)Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
