Please please help me, can this happen or is it my imagination running wild?? Please any help would be appreciated thanks.

  • can this happen or is it my imagination running wild?? It can happen, but with the very limited information provided not much more can be said. For instance, is there redness, swelling, or pain? Have you had any nasal or upper respiratory infections lately? One possibility, for instance, is a condition called rhinophyma (bulbous nose, in non-medical terminology). Please see your physician for accurate diagnosis and management.

  • Allow me to add a couple more points. Just to avoid confusion, I am not suggesting you have rhinophyma. Rhinophyma generally is not seen at your age (but can occasionally occur). You should also be aware that people at your age can sometimes be very self-conscious about their appearance. When you decide to see your physician I would recommend you take some "before and after" pictures with you so that the physician can assess the changes in the shape of your nose.

  • Thanks for replying. I live in the U.K so when you say physian do you mean a doctor? Also, will my nose ever go back to its original shape. Please help, thanks

  • Yes, by "physician" I mean doctor. "will my nose ever go back to its original shape." Your doctor will need to evaluate you and determine the cause. Management would depend on the cause.

  • take pictures to measure the changes, if any...what do you friends and family say?? A doctor could put your mind at ease. Noses don't morph unless you have plastic surgery. You could have some type of highly rare obstruction, so find a doctor if you are worried.
