I have had a constant vaginal discharge for two years. It is not clear, but yellowish in color. I have seen my gyn several times on this, and each time he samples the discharge and tells me it is normal. Is it possible for a yellowish discharge to be normal??

  • A normal vaginal discharge is white with sometimes a slight tinge of yellow. It has no odor and is smooth and viscous. There shouldn't be any lumps or cottage cheese consistancy. Of course, there shoudn't be any itching. Do you have a foul odor? Any itchiness? Any burning sensation? If yes to any of the above you may have candida and it won't necessarily show up on tests. Please read the other posts about Vaginosis and Candida for my home remedy recommendation. This treatment works wonderfully. Also, look at your diet. Do you consume a lot of sugar? Dairy products? Sometimes a diet high in refined sugars/carbs will cause your discharge to be more profuse and perhaps more yellow. I wouldn't worry unless you are experiencing discomfort with the above mentioned symptoms. Take a good probiotic supplement and insert this into your vagina. Take one orally as well. Hope this helps you.DOM
