I have had several tests with no luck of a diagnosis. Here are all of my symptoms (in no particular order) please help me!
-Spotting/Bleeding after sex and masterbation
-No ovulation
-Infertility
-Abnormal periods- lack of periods, constant brown/black discharge (old blood)
-Abdominal bloating- all the time
-Fatigue
-Insomnia
-I lose handfuls of hair in the shower
-Constipation (all the time)- sometimes severe
-Ovarian cysts
-Abdominal pain
-Weird calf discomfort at night- they feel tight and achy and just uncomfortable, enough to keep me up at night
-Nausea
-Dizziness
-Lower back pain, sometimes severe

These are the main problem I have on a daily basis.
I do not have any idea whats going on with me and I can not get a diagnosis. I have had a lot of doctors dismiss me because I am only 27 and according to them, I am too young to have anything 'wrong' with me. Im just fed up and want to know whats going on with my body. I know that something is out of wack... My main issues are the fact that I do not have normal periods, if I do menstrate, it is only for a day or two and it varies from light brown to black discharge, I do not ovulate and I have the same discharge after sex and masterbation. We've used lubercation with no avail...I still bleed. Now, I am having issues with not being able to 'get wet, even though I am turned on. Im just at a loss. Im constipated and bloated (I look like Im pregnent sometimes!), sometimes severly. I dont know if I might have a few things going on or if all this is just an accumilation of one main thing...gurrr

  • I also wanted to add that Ive had these issues since I have been in my teens. I also suffer from severe joint pain in my hands, fingers, knees, ankles and toes. This mainly happens in the morning and night time. I am not overweight.

  • Constipation could be related to your other problems or may not be. Constipation can cause abdomenal pain, bloating and even nausea and fatigue (as toxins are reabsorbed back into ones system). For the constipation.. try taking something like Metamusel or another fibre supplement twice daily, each day. Make sure you drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day. I believe you need to seek out a doctor who isnt just going to dismiss you cause you are young and who is willing to try to work out your issue. You NEED a good doctor. Hair loss could be anything from an autoimmune issue to just being caused by stress. Your calf discomfort.. i wonder if you have "restless leg syndrome" which can be just an individual problem or appears in some conditions along with other things.

  • Time to try a holistic doc! Consider an Oriental Medical practitioner, homeopath, naturopath, or other good holistic doc to help with your symptoms. They may be able to point you in a different direction and get you back to health. Acupuncture in particular is very helpful for women's health and menstrual disorders. Best wishesDOM

  • How large are your ovarian cysts? Are they on one or both sides of ovaries? These can cause constipation/bloating/bleeding issues. Have they ruled out endometriosis? DOM

  • Thank you! I have joined and posted my topic there. Lyme Disease is a good possibility. Honestly, its something I never really thought about having.

  • Thank you for your insight. I have battled severe constipation for as long as I can remember. I try to make sure that I stay hydrated and have enough fiber, but it doesnt really have any effect on me... What else can I try. I know that its not really good to use laxatives a lot. I try not to use them more than every few months or so. I average a BM once a week - sometimes longer. I have thought about IBS with constipation, but have never been tested. Stress is something that I always go through. However, I can have nothing going on that would be stressful for once but my hair will still come out, sometimes enough to check for bald spots!

  • I have been tested several times for endometriosis, they have always ruled that out. Id love to go to a holistic doctor, but my insurance wont cover it and there isnt anything like that available close enough to where I live. My cysts very depending on what my cycle should be. When i should be getting my period, I have A LOT of pain and discomfort in the area of my ovaries. I have had so many rupture or leak into my abdominal cavity. i have had to get it drained 2X before. I have also had them removed, but they dont stay away. Last time I was told, My cysts where faily significant (in amount), but they just say surgery would be pointless and unless its life threatning, they will not remove any part of my reproductive system. This is because in KY you have to be married, atleast 35 yrs old and have 2 children. I am divorced, 27 and have one child.

  • In the Chinese cosmology, you are describing a severe case of congested blood. The diagnosis isn't important as much as seeing if you can access the help of an acupuncturist. This is a very treatable problem for us. There are practitioners who charge a reasonable fee - about $15 - $35. Go look up "community acupuncture" to find one. And getting checked out for Lymn is an excellent idea - that's a sneaky disorder. I had it when I was a teen and it really hurt!I am horrified to hear that KT denies surgery to women on the basis of their marital status. That has to be a human rights violation! Maybe you should check this out with a local medical regulation board. I really can't believe its true. At the same time, I can tell you that getting rid of your uterus isn't going to solve the core of this problem, not in the long term.

  • they will not remove any part of my reproductive system. This is because in KY you have to be married, atleast 35 yrs old and have 2 children. I am divorced, 27 and have one child. That is something I have never heard before and sounds completely bonkers! Who told you that and where is the "law" written? Is it with your insurance? I agree that you want to hold off on a hysterectomy if at all possible, but sometimes it is warranted. I don't wish to imply that it is in your case, but think the above rule is ludicrous. What is your diet like? What foods and drink do you consume on a daily basis? You may have a food intolerance contributing to all of your symptoms..especially the extreme constipation (once a week or more IS extreme). Please research this link and consider altering your diet. Common food allergens include dairy, soy, wheat/gluten, corn, and others. Best wishesDOM

  • Have your hormone levels tested. I had the same issue with my period and my gynecologist tested my hormones after I pushed her to rule things out. I had high prolactin levels which caused her to order an MRI of my pituitary gland in the brain. I have been diagnosed with a pituitary tumor which apparently is very treatable. I am on medication for it and the doctor believes surgery or chemo/radiation will not be needed.

  • Hi SarahKY, I think I can help you figure out what your problem is. My daughter-inlaw had the same type problems and after a few years and many doctors, she was diagnosed with what is "Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that can affect a woman's hormone levels, periods, and ovulation." Things have gotten better she found the right doctors who would listen. She and my son now have 4 darling children, ages 5 and three 2 years old children.I wish you luck, hang in there. babh1

  • Hi. Can the doctors marsupulize your cysts? Also, you might have cysts growing out of another cyst, which may be putting too much stress on your body and it's coming out as bloating and fatigue. Laxatives won't help one bit, and water pills won't do much as well. Do you get itch areas or "grey colored" skin anywhere by your underwear line or under the arm pits? If so, all of this could be a fungal infection. You can try a holistic doctor or western doctor. Wester will give you antibiotics for 10 days. If that helps, good... but it might not last. see if they can find out how many cysts there are and if they can atleast be drained or marzupulized.

If a western doc were to give you antibiotics for a fungal infection I would drop that doctor fast! Antibiotics will only make a fungal infection MUCH worse as it will increase fungal overgrowth. I think you meant to say they would prescribe an antifungal med like diflucan or others...these don't usually work for fungal (esp candida ) overload. IME it is better to find a good holistic doc to help you with this problem. You can get a stool test done to measure the range of candida found in your stool - this is helpful in diagnosing a systemic candida issue. Best wishesDOM

If you have IBS.. even a high fibre diet may not be enough.. You may need extra fibre on top of that hence fibre supplements. (fibre supplements are not laxatives.. im just saying that in case you are confused. Fibre isnt bad for you but yes laxatives are).

However, if you have food intolerances, especially celiac, this will make things much much worse. This is very tricky, but I agree that fiber is usually a better option. Just go very slowly with this. DOM
