Noise in Ear

Has anyone experienced distortion of certain sounds in one ear, occasional popping noises and pressure, I have no ringing just a lot of racket as if you arent quite on a radio station and you hear that scratchy staticy sound. The more noises around me the more I experience this, its better in a quiet room or if I am talking one on one. Vacuuming, water running, fridge humming, loud children playing, driving with radio on and motor and traffic noise are the things that most affect me most. No Dr. can seem to diagnose anything. My eardrum looks normal, no water or wax, hearing is fine although the affected ear does have minimal loss and is kind of borderline. I can hear fine, but the racket is so annoying. I know that SOMETHING has to be going on in my middle ear. What could it be? It started sporadically 3 years ago, and has been consistent now for the last 8 months. I feel as though it could be my eustacian tube or perhaps related to my jaw joint, worse yet a tumour. I need someone to do more for me rather than just brush it off. Seen 2 Ents with no satisfaction, I cant just "ignore" it, it drives me crazy.

  • Sounds like fluid in the ear canal. Ask about using something to get rid of the fluid. I had this for quite a long time. It finally cleared on its own, but afterward a friend told me her ENT ha recommended something she could put in the ear to remove it. I also got instruction on how to shower (no fooling!) to avoid geting water in the ears. I haven't had a problem since.
