Hi there,
I am 4 months pregnant (this is my first pregnancy and i am 25 years old). My Husband and i have been advised by our doctor that ,to stay on the safe side, we should not have intercourse for the first 3 months. It was very difficult :) but we managed to refrain from sex for 3 months. Now that i am 4 months,we tried having sex, however when we finished, my husband noticed that there is very light "pinkish" blood on his penis and once i used tissue, i too also noticed the same light "pinkish" blood.
I was very scared... did we hurt the baby and is my pregnancy ok? i know that my doctor will tell us to refrain from sex, but i was just wondering, did anyone experience what i am experiencing? Is it normal...
What should i do..

  • This happens to most pregnant women at least once or twice during their pregnancy, after sex. What most likely happened is that your husband's penis hit your cervix at some point during sex, which caused a little bit of bleeding. This is no cause for concern. Because you are pregnant, your cervix is much more prone to irritation. Lots of women will also bleed slightly from the cervix after having an internal exam from a doctor (checking the uterus' position, dilation of the cervix, etc)... if you are still worried, mention it to your doctor at the next visit, but I'm betting that everything is fine.

  • Get a new Dr!!!Sex during pregnancy is 100% fine! Unless..........you had problems in the past with staying pregnant or you have early bleeding and there's a threat of miscarriage. If you didn't have a medical problem that required you to not have sex in the first 3 months---then I don't know what kind of Dr you have. Maybe some "old" method type. Don't let him tell you to not have sex in the last 3 months either!!! Unless medical problem. Sex/organism actually helps "rippen" the cervix and prepare for labor/delivery. Sometimes----organism can trigger labor too!! :)
