Trapezius spasm beginning in December 2006 for two years with progressive hand atrophy..then visited chiro/masseuse for soft tissue release ion April 2008...just after treatment bilateral burning shoulder pain for six weeks, then trapezius atrophy onset, then scapular tilting, then atrophy of supra, infraspinatus, deltoids, was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic in June 2008 with multidirectional shoulder instability, then that diagnosis was ruled out by two other ortho and shoulder docs upon returning to CA who evaluated my shoulders, started PT for rotator cuff/scapular stability in July 2008, now much worse with progressive atrophy of shoulder girdle and bilateral drooping shoulders. Have had EMG/NCV of spinal accessory nerve, suprascapular, brachial plexus, parathyroid, mutifocal motor neuropathy, lupus labs -- all tests negative. Recently very difficult to abduct arms while working at desk at work, difficulty sleeping; waking up worse every day; much worse over past three weeks. Just set up appt. with endocrinologist to determine whether muscle weakness could be endocrine/metabolic -- neurological, vascular, rheumatology, and other tests inconclusive....PLEASE HELP - I AM ABOUT TO GO ON DISABILITY. Two months ago I was fuctional. I just need to know what's going on...condition has only worsened with physical therapy. I am researching anabolic steroids to maintain muscle mass and regain strength.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
